Vision & Challenges

  • Creating a space to test and showcase possibilities for stores in the context of digitalization.
  • Rethinking the product presentation, the store navigation and the selling process for employees and customers.
  • Discovering how new technology and software is able to help in the future.
  • Finding out what is already working well and has to be incorporated in the new concept.

Approach & Methods

Over a two day workshop the whole team quickly worked out rough concepts and ideas as a starting point for the Concept Store, where digitalization could help the business.

The concepts were split up for researching as well as validating the possibilities they hold. Afterwards they were presented, and discussed with the team to see which ones held the most potential and work together as a cohesive story to decide what exactly will be worked on.

For further research on the chosen concepts, we visited different facilities of the company, used for producing, managing and selling glasses to get to know the companies products and workflows in detail.

Some of the biggest UX design difficulties lay in the interfaces for selling glasses inside the stores due to the expert knowledge it requires.

The concepts were prototyped and brought together in a physical, self built space to make the experience presentable as a seamless story from the customers point of view. From discovering the need and gathering first ideas at home, making informed decisions with the help of experts in the store to creating a customized product, buying and paying for it.
