Vision & Challenges
- Creating a tool that supports the selling process in consideration of the companies quality standards and philosophy.
- Deeply understanding the catalogs product and, for the customer consultant, important information about it.
- Make the product fit in the existing and time sensitive structure in the stores.
- Keeping the catalog self-exploratory, intuitive and without the need for training, while still covering the complexity of the product.
Approach & Methods
First of all we took a look at the existing catalog. We wanted to know how it is being used and in which contexts during the consultation and selling processes. Also looked at all physical objects that are used during those processes.
We started to collect and document this workflow and the corresponding needs of the user as well as their pain points with the current catalog.
Due to the expert knowledge it contains, that is only for the consultants in the stores, we explored and structured the data in co-creation sessions with them.
Through regular user tests, where we visited the stores with low and high fidelity prototypes, we got a more and more clear picture about the interface structure and features till the catalog was ready for release.
The release was done incrementally, starting with stores that signed up for early access till it was evolved enough to ship it country wide.
